Coleman: 1,725 ballots are in doubt in U.S. Senate trial; Franken: No, that should be 9 ballots
Republican Norm Coleman believes he has proved 1,725 absentee ballots should be opened and counted in his U.S. Senate election trial, according to a new legal filing.
Today’s filing — a reaction to Democrat Al Franken’s request to end the race’s two month-old trial and dismiss Coleman’s case — says that Coleman has more than proved that Franken’s 225-vote lead is in doubt.
Attorneys for both would-be senators will argue whether or not the case should be dismissed this afternoon.
